What is Hard Luck Media Co.?

Hard Luck Media Co. is a media project where photography, film, and print come together to preserve and elevate the stories, culture, and people behind ‘64 and earlier traditional hot rods and custom cars.

I’m Jon. I choose to prioritize slow and intentional media over the fast pace and pressure of the modern algorithm. The work focuses on documentation, entertainment, and art without separating one from the others.

My goal is threefold:

To preserve parts of the traditional car culture I come in contact with, to produce physical pieces you can hold in your hand or wear out into the world, and to point new people toward a traditional car culture that survives today because people continue to hold it close .
